RX Lites 2014 Season Ready To Start in Portugal


RX Lites 2014 season will kick off its inaugural event in Montalegre, Portugal this weekend along with FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy.

10 young and talented drivers will be at the steer of their RX Lites to score the best season points out of the weekend. Future Rallycross stars will be in a bumper-to-bumper competition and no doubtedly all the Rallycross fans will be a part of this action with excitement.

RX lites has a 310 BHP powered, 4WD rear-mid engined rallycross car and has a tubular chassis. It is designed and produced by cooperation with multi-title winner Olsbergs MSE of Sweden and AVITAS Motorsport from Turkey. As the days are counting down for the first start lights goes off, excitement of RX Lites action raises up.

Selection of the drivers for the first event shows that it is already an international challenge. There will be drivers from Sweden, USA, Turkey, Norway and Colombia roaring their engines in Montalegre Circuit. The action will start from the very beginning of seeding laps, through heats and final.

Montalegre Circuit is on the northeast of Portugal and only 7 kilometers away from Spanish border. For those who want to join the action at the venue, simply find the state road N103-9, just outside the Town of Montalegre.

There will be a parade on Friday evening and Supercars will be roaring in a convoy to The Castle of Montalegre. The convoy will be escorted by National Guards and Firefighter Squads. Rallycross fans will be able to talk to Rallycross stars and also find chance to take a photograph with them.

Satruday’s program will be full of open practice and seeding laps. On Saturday evening there will be a freestyle show on the waterfront of the river in the village of Montalegre and he will keep the action alive.

Heats and semifinals will be on Sunday and the day will close up with the Final race at the circuit. All bets are on and the drivers are ready for the opening round of season long excitement.
