RX Lites Cup, supporting event for World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy, heading to second round of the 2014 season this weekend. Kent based Lydden Hill Circuit will be hosting record breaking entries in a few days. There were an amazing attention from rallycross enthusiasts to the opening round in Portugal and it is expected even more crowds for the British venue where is called “home of rallycross”.
The winner of RX Lites Portugal round and the leader of the series so far Sebastien Eriksson is replaced by young talent Mitchell De Jong from USA. Mitchell is the youngest medalist on X Games and already familiar to RX Lites. His fans expecting top places on the podium but for sure he needs to try harder to climb there.
Another new entry is Patrik Flodin from Sweden. He couldn’t made it to Portugal but he is ready to join the action in Lydden Hill.It’s definitely going to be more and more exciting with newcomers and the mirror-to-miror challenge in RX Lites will take breaths away this weekend.
Richard Göransson is holding second place at the standings after Portugal and he is aiming to take the lead. Daniel Holten is on third and Turkish driver Yigit Timur is right behind him on fourth. Alexanfer Westlund and Kevin Eriksson have the same points on fifth and sixth and they are followed by Aron Domzala, Daniel Bjork and Alejandro Fernandez respectively.
RX Lites Lydden Hill round will open with free practices on saturday morning. Heat 1 and Heat 2 will start the action again on Saturday. Heat 3 and Heat 4 followed by Semi Finals on Sunday and the excitement will peak with Final Race on sunday afternoon.
