RX Lites crews move to Franciacorta Circuit in Italy for the fifth round of 2014 season. After a summer break, the action will be unfolded in very well known rallycross circuit near Brescia and it is expected to attract thousands of fans to the venue.
FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy is already rising among the motorsports enthusiasts as the fastest growing motorsports event. As a supporting event to this world class championship, RX Lites is attractiong crowds and new talents with a motto of “Creating New Stars” It will be as thrilling as before in Italian soil this weekend, with the newcomers to entry list.
The Entry list of RX Lites has announced and there will be 12 competitors challenging to get the best points. Koen Pauwels from Belgium, Mark Wallenwein from Germany Fatih Kara from Turkey and Gianmarco Maggiulli from Italy will be the new names to the series and they will be joining the RX Lites action for the first time.
Kevin Eriksson is leading the Championship with 92 points as he extended his lead with winning the last round in Sweden and will be doing his best to steer his car to the podium once again. Richard Göransson is on second place in Championship standings with 72 points but since he moved to SuperCar Category in Italy he will not be scoring for RX Lites this time. Yigit Timur is on third place with 59 points and the young Turk will be defending his position against Alexander Westlund and Kevin Hansen Jr, who are fourth and fifth in standings respectively, with even scores of 57 points.
Franciacorta International Circuit is situated on the edge of Franciacorta, in between Brescia and Lake Iseo. It is 1390 meters long and consists of approximately 60% tarmac and 40% gravel surface. It is well known with its two fast jumps in the gravel section and downhill fast tarmac straight. The venue also hosted The Media Day just before the opening of 2014 Season.
