Lydden Hill Rallycross Circuit has hosted the second round of RX Lites 2015 season this weekend. 12 Drivers pushed to the limit to win the round in the home of rallycross in British soil.
Kevin Hansen Jr. from Red Bull Peugeot Hansen is the name of the crown for the round and the young Swede finally made it to the top of the podium since his success in Finland last year. Kevin, started the race weekend with a Heat win. He showed a good pace and used the advantage of dried surface after light rain in the morning and managed to put his name on the top with an amazing margin of 5,310 seconds to his rival Kevin Eriksson. He kept his tempo and after winning Semi-Final 2, Kevin planned a smart strategy on Joker Lap despite the light rain hit the laps, he managed to win the final race.
Reigning champion Kevin Eriksson was not happy with the speed he got under rain but he forced his limits to make it to podium. He gathered points on Heats and made his attack on the Semi-Final 1 over Thomas Bryntesson and won. On the final race, he amazed the thousands of rallycross fans with his aggressive driving and how he defended his position. Kevin finished the weekend in second overall and kept his power on leaderboard.
Norwegian rising star Thomas Bryntesson was one of the most surprising names of the weekend. On his debut race, he managed to win 3 Heats, came second on semi-final 1 and made it to podium as finishing the final race on 3rd position. His RX Lites with Gulf livery was also looking good as a classic.
Oliver Eriksson, younger brother of Kevin finished in 4th overall while he forced the lead on final race. Tobias Brink finished 5th overall where Simon Olofsson ended up in gravel pool and couldnt make it to checquered flag.
After LyddenRX Round, both Kevins tied on points with 55 at the leaderboard. Tobias Brink is on 3rd position, followed by Sandra Hultgren and Joachim Hvaal. For detailed results and to check the leaderboard you can visit our Results page.
Third round of RX Lites cup will be organised on 3-5 July weekend in Höljes, Sweden. The great atmosphere of the venue will host expectedly record breaking entries of the season.
