The 8th and the final round of RXLites 2015 Championship will be held at Franciacorta Circuit in Italy this weekend. The venue will host FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy for the second year in a row and organisers have modified the track from last year. New joker lap layout, improved gravel section and new spaces for spectators are the major changes. 1228 meters long track is made of %60 tarmac and %40 gravel which makes it one of the longest gravel section of the season.
RXLites 2015 season will end in Lombardia Region where the Champion will be crowned . Current leader Kevin Hansen Jr. has managed to finish on the podium last year and if he can repeat his success this weekend, the title will be given to 17-year-old Swede. One of his strongest rivals is Norwegian Thomas Bryntesson. Undoubtedly, Thomas is one of the flashing names of the season since he got the series of 4 wins in a row starting from HöljesRX of Sweden, HellRX at his home event, BarcelonaRX and TurkeyRX respectively. There are only 11 points between the leader as there are 30 perfect points in total to grab. Reigning Champion Kevin Eriksson is also in the pot. He is only 3 points behind Bryntesson and young Swede is so confident with the upcoming challenge as he finished second last year.
Olsbergs MSE squad has a strong back up for Kevin Eriksson this weekend. His younger brother Oliver Eriksson has already joined the regulars at some of the races this year and he stands 10th position at the overall classification with 46 points. But, another flashing name for Italy is Austin Cindric. Young American is a GRC Lites regular in USA which is a similar supporting event for Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship. More than that, Cindric is leading the US version of SuperCar Lites series just before the final round which will be held in Las Vegas,Nevada on 4th of November. It will be one of the most exciting encounters of the season as two championship leaders and second place holders will provide extreme action to spectators and all RX enthusiasts.
Simon Olofsson is back in the game after missing the Turkish round. This absence costed him to drop one position down in classification. Joachim Hvaal used this opporunity so wisely and took over Olofsson’s place. ItalyRX will be the last challenge for the duo to take the fourth position at the season standings.
Simon Syversen will be on the track to defend his position over Krzysztof Holowczyc since there are only 7 points between them. Martin Kaczmarski is again joining the Polish motorsports legend Holowczyc under Lotto Team colours.
The first Kenyan at the WorldRX arena, Tejas Hirani at the steer of his TOKSport WRT run RXLites, is joining the action in Italy. This will be his third race as he started the triple series in Barcelona. He missed the final race opportunity with one position back in Istanbul. The weekend in Franciacorta is his next chance to make it to final with enormous support from his fans in Kenya.
Season final scheduled into two days on both Saturday and Sunday. The first day starts with Free Practices and followed by Heat1, Heat2 and Heat3 races. The last day of 2015 season will start with Free Practices again and continue with Heat4 on Sunday. Semi-finals are scheduled at 13:40 and at last the final race will be run after 15:00, Franciacorta local time.
